'Still Water' Brancaster Staithe Norfolk

This painting was painted at Brancaster Staithe in North Norfolk.  The mud flats and creeks in this area have a wonderful artistic quality as they reflect the huge skies of the coast. There is often a particular muted diffuse light in the air and I wanted to capture the moment when the tide ever so slowly creeps back up into the creek gently lifting the small wooden boats.
