‘Fishing Boats at Rest’ Thornham Old Harbour Norfolk

I painted this scene en plein air at one of my favourite North Norfolk coastal spots under the watch of my faithful dog Archie. I use a pallet of rich and vivid colours in order to best express the sense of the scene.  The cool blues of the shaded riverbank contrasts with the warm greens of the grassy marsh land behind.  I have used a pallet knife and wide brush in order to maintain a lively and expressive feel that best echoes natures forms.
