'Constable Country' Dedham Essex

I painted this 'en plein air' sat with my dog Archie on the banks of the Stour upstream from Flatford Mill and Willy Lott’s cottage made famous John Constable. Being there makes you feel like you’re in a living masterpiece. I use richly pigmented Pastel à l’Écu to help capture the life of the scene, cool blues of the water contrast with warm greens of leaves.
